“Being an ambassador has meant the world to me. It has given me so many opportunities to support people around me that are struggling. Along with that, being an ambassador has also taught be that it’s okay for me to struggle as well. Not everyday is perfect and that’s okay, give yourself grace and tomorrow will be better.
I have been able to reach so many people through IGYPS. Whether that’s through outreach tables, events or even starting a fundraiser, this project has given me countless opportunities to speak out and support those around me.”

Maddison L, Iowa High School Ambassador

“Being an IGYSP Ambassador has allowed me to give my community, friends, and family the greatest gift of all: hope – hope that athletes are more than their sport, hope that men are allowed to talk openly about mental health, and hope for everyone that better days are ahead.”

“Through the IGYSP, I have reached people in multiple communities using the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training to help educate others on how to open the conversation around mental health and suicide. More broadly, the IGYSP has given me the opportunity to tell my story and encourage others to tell theirs to break the stigma around mental health through the IGYSP’s public events and online media.”

Jaxon S, Iowa/Florida Ambassador
