Our mission is to encourage those struggling with suicidal ideation and mental health challenges to get the help they need. We promote the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline on our resources. We provide “Just Keep Swimming/ 988” bracelets, “How to Support a Friend Who’s Struggling pamphlets, “You Matter/ 988” and “You are Enough/ 988” bag tags, and various stickers at no charge. That includes free shipping.
You can find our resources in Middle Schools, High Schools, Mental Health Clinics, Hospitals, Therapists' offices, Doctors’ offices, Sports’ Complexes, and community businesses around the country. To date, we are in 46 states and 6 countries and have distributed over 218,000 bracelets and 97,000 pamphlets, with new orders coming in daily.
We, also, teach suicide prevention training called Q.P.R. (Question. Persuade. Refer.) at no charge to any group or persons. We have 6 trainers and offer in person or ZOOM classes. To date, we have trained 878 people with more training scheduled.
How is the I’m Glad You Stayed Project funded?
We are a federally recognized 501 c 3 non-profit entity and rely on donations and grants, when we can get them. All of our Board members are volunteers; therefore, we have no paid employees.
We also sell original T-shirts to the public, making a small profit.
Any money we receive goes back into the purchasing of our resources, postage, Q.P.R. booklets, shipping supplies, office accounting, and customer database needs.
