ADELLE

My name is Adelle, I am 15 years old and I’ve been struggling with my mental health since I was 12. A few weeks before I turned 13 I had my first suicide attempt and was later hospitalized for the first time. After that I attempted multiple more times and have been in and out of inpatient units. I want to make sure resources are available to people who need them. I also want the stigma around mental health and suicide to stop, I am in my schools student council as a mental health leader and I have written many essays for my English classes about the stigma. I enjoy writing and talking about mental health and how you are not alone in this journey no matter how lonely you feel. I aspire to become a psychologist later in life and save people’s lives.
